A representative from Mass Art will be visiting Mrs. McKenna’s classroom (1241) on Tuesday, October 2, during D block 11:15 – to the end of G block 1:07.
As juniors and seniors begin to think about life after high school, we want to present the many learning and career opportunities available with an Art degree.
This presentation will cover a wide variety of topics including financial aid, the portfolio development process, and careers in the arts. It also features a wide range of artwork created by students currently enrolled at MassArt. Afterward, there will be time to answer questions, and even review portfolios as time allows.
Students in the Honors Drawing & Painting class have just finished up with their Self – Portraits. They have worked extremely hard over the last month and a half to complete these portfolio pieces. For most of these students this was their first ever full portrait. I would have to say I am very proud of all their improvements. Keep up the great work!
Recently, ceramic artwork was installed in the Visual Arts Department hallway as part of an effort to promote the Arts and beautify WHS. A ceramic project, created by Erin Riley, Class of 2012, was installed yesterday in the Art Department area. Her ceramic work is now in good company along side a group mural project painted by an Art One Class in 2000, a fantastic underwater water fountain alcove painted by KT Dodge Class of 2006, a Visual Arts sign by Corey Jones Class of 2008, and the lastest Visual Arts sign created by Nick Murphy Class of 2015. With the overwhelming numbers of creative Art students at WHS, the Visual ARts department is clearly marked.
