WHSVisual Arts assists the Hartshorne House

WHS Art student Nick Atwater recently repainted two signs for the Hartshorne House. Meri Eldridge, a member of the Hartshorne House Board of Directors, contacted the Visual Arts Department to find out if there was anyone available to help out. Nick Atwater, a senior who will attend Wentworth in the fall, was enlisted to refurbish the sign because of his skill and high level of craftsmanship.

The Colonel James Hartshorne House was built in 1681 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house has had a long and interesting history and is owned by the Town of Wakefield but managed by the Colonel James Hartshorne House Association and a Board of Directors who work to maintain and preserve the house. The sign Nick painted hangs out side of the house and will probably be back in place this week.
