Art Club meets every Thursday after school in room 1243.
The Visual Arts Department is looking forward to a great year. We have expanded in a few areas since last year.
As our numbers have grown considerably, we have a new .6 art teacher. I’m pleased to introduce Ms. Susan Teal; she will be teaching 3 sections of Art 1. When you get the chance welcome Ms. Teal into the WHS community. She will be teaching in rooms 1243 and 1247.
The Visual Arts Department has a new office space in room 1236. It is quite a bit of a mess right now but I’m sure we can work some magic over the next few weeks to put everything in it’s place.
Art Club meets every Thursday after school from 2:05-3:30 in room 1243. Art Club is open to everyone and there is no fee to join. Stop by after school on Thursday, September 13 for our first meeting. If you have any questions talk to Mrs Schilling or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fright Night is coming to the Galvin Auditorium on the afternoon-evening of Thursday, October 25 featuring two showings at 4:00 and 7:00 of student made horror films. This is an awesome event, where you can check out some incredible student films created in the Video Production Classes. Admission to the movies is $5.00.
Before or after the movies you can stroll on down to the Beebe Library steps to see over 200 student-carved pumpkins created by WHS Art students. This tradition has been going on for 20 years and is always a popular, well attended event. Student-made treats from the Culinary Arts Classes including pumpkin whoopie pies, caramel apples, and chocolate chip cookies will also be available for sale in front of the library.

Today was the first meeting of the WHSArt Club. Art Club meets every Thursday after school until 3:30 and is led this year by President Jose Lopez Jr., Vice President Preston Yee, and Secretary/Treasurer Jake Toolan. We call Jake the treasurer but he will have to be very creative due to the fact that we don’t have much money. Art Club works on planned group projects but also saves time aside for individual creativity and expression. If you are interested stop by room 1243 for more information. Everyone is welcome.
