Photoshop Yourself into a Famous Painting!

Photoshop Yourself into a Famous Painting!

Graphic Design students have learned so much this year! One of the last skills we learned was how to edit photos in a convincing way so they don’t even look “photoshopped”. To do this project, students chose a famous painting and took their own photo in the same position. They had to blend their face onto the famous photo by editing color, contrast and brightness. They even had to edit the texture to make their face look like it was on a canvas or had cracked or smeared paint. This project is one of many that bring many ideas and skills together that they have learned over the course of the year. Nice work, Graphic Design!

Graphic Design Party Invitations

Graphic Design Party Invitations

Graphic Design students are starting to combine many different concepts together to create original designs. For this project, students were assigned a client in class to design for. This is much different than designing for yourself in the way that the students now did not have the ability to choose color schemes, imagery or text. They had to create a design that showcased their knowledge of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity as well as choosing font pairs that complimented their theme. Students balanced the client/designer relationship well to showcase their aesthetic as well as making their client happy. Great job, Graphic Design!

Graphic Design Band Posters

Graphic Design Band Posters

The two graphic design classes learned the first two rules of design: contrast and repetition. They focused on these two rules to create their band posters. The most important information has the most contrast and there are repeated patterns, colors and shapes that create repetition to lead the viewer’s eye around the piece.

Next up are the next two rules of design: alignment and proximity. When following all four rules, great design is guaranteed!
