Self Portraits

Self Portraits

Students in the Honors Drawing & Painting class have just finished up with their Self – Portraits. They have worked extremely hard over the last month and a half to complete these portfolio pieces. For most of these students this was their first ever full portrait. I would have to say I am very proud of all their improvements. Keep up the great work!

Intro To Ceramics students were very busy in Term 1. Students were introduced to clay, wedging, glazing, and hand building techniques such as test tiles, pinch pots, joined vessels, and coil construction. Tactile awareness is essential in clay construction, being able to construct a vessel being 1/4″ thick in most areas, smooth in another, then adding texture to accentuate the form, can really make or break a piece.
Essential Understandings
